Il mio mensile contributo alla storica rivista musicale italiana, questo mese si occupa di una formazione da me particolarmente amata. Ho cercato di raccontare i Giardini di Mirò con la speranza di esserci, magari in parte, riuscito. A seguire come sempre, gli ascolti personali che comprendono recensioni rock, trip-hop oriented, memories e l’amata materia elettroacustica, il tutto con ascolti. I have tried to tell the story of Giardini di Mirò, hoping that, at least in part, I have managed to do them justice. As always, this is followed by my personal listening choices: rock reviews, trip-hop-oriented sounds, memories, and that beloved electroacoustic matter — all accompanied by music to listen to. Giardini di Mirò : Il Suono della Soglia

Esistono formazioni che attraversano il tempo e altri che invece lo fendono di sbieco, lasciando una scia meno appariscente e per questo più tenace, più fedele alla sostanza profonda delle cose. I Giardini di Mirò appartengono a questa seconda stirpe. Non hanno mai inseguito il centro della scena, eppure da più di vent’anni restano una presenza decisiva nella musica italiana che ha scelto di crescere ai margini, nei territori dove il suono diventa visione, paesaggio interiore, biografia collettiva. Parlare di loro oggi significa raccontare una forma di resistenza gentile e ostinata, una lunga fedeltà a un’idea di gruppo, di ricerca, di viaggio, di condivisione. Significa anche accettare che certe storie, pur sospese, continuino a pulsare come se il loro cuore avesse deciso di battere un poco più lentamente, senza per questo spegnersi. |||| Some bands pass through time, while others cut across it obliquely, leaving behind a trail less conspicuous and therefore more tenacious, more faithful to the deep substance of things. Giardini di Mirò belong to this second lineage. They have never chased the centre of the stage, and yet for more than twenty years they have remained a decisive presence in Italian music: a music that chose to grow on the margins, in those territories where sound becomes vision, inner landscape, collective biography. To speak of them today means telling of a gentle and stubborn form of resistance, a long fidelity to an idea of band, of exploration, of journey, of sharing. It also means accepting that certain stories, though suspended, continue to pulse, as if their heart had chosen to beat a little more slowly, without ever going out.

… Alla fine rimane una sensazione rara, quella di aver ascoltato un disco che chiude il cerchio senza sigillarlo, che lascia aperta la corrente del ricordo e la trasforma in acuta esperienza. Quasi Casa è un titolo perfetto perché contiene vicinanza, vertigine e distanza minima dal cuore delle cose. È anche il suono di una comunità che si ritrova e resta accesa nel tempo, sotto pelle. Ed è nella sua luce azzurra che continua a RIMANERE VIVA. |||| … In the end, what remains is a rare sensation: that of having listened to a record that closes the circle without sealing it, that leaves the current of memory open and turns it into a keen experience. Quasi Casa is a perfect title because it contains closeness, vertigo, and the slightest distance from the heart of things. It is also the sound of a community finding itself again and staying lit through time, beneath the skin. And it is within its blue light that it continues to REMAIN ALIVE.
